COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

At the Security Centre, we know how important it is to be part of the community we live and work in. We are dedicated to supporting charities and non-profit organizations each year that add value to our society – especially those that show significant effort, and contribution, toward making our society a safer, cleaner and more secure place to be.

Safe Exchange Zone

The Security Centre is pleased to announce a strategic partnership with eCayTrade to establish the Cayman Islands’ Safe Exchange Zone for people to trade goods safely within the community.

This designated and monitored space will allow individuals to buy, sell or exchange items with confidence and peace of mind. The Security Centre’s mission has always been to enhance safety within our community, and this Safe Exchange Zone is a significant step towards achieving that goal.

Supporting Local Athletes for a Safer Future

The Security Centre is committed to supporting Caymanian athletes as part of our goal to foster the next generation to create a safer future for us all.As part of our commitment to the next generation of Caymanian athletes, we were proud to support one of our own, Larue Nixon, to represent the Cayman Islands at the USA Flag 2024 Flag Football World Championships, as part of the National Flag Football Team.We hope that opportunities like this will help young athletes reach their full potential and serve as role models for the next generation.

In line with our dedication to nurturing young talent, we have partnered with local athletes who share our values and aspirations.

By supporting individuals like pro bodybuilder, Robert Thompson, we aim to inspire our youth to pursue their dreams and become positive influences on young and other vulnerable members of our community, ultimately steering them away from crime and violence.

The Security Centre SEC Programme

In 2024 The Security Centre and The Academy Grand Cayman hosted a six-week female-only martial arts and self-defense programme designed to give women the power to protect themselves and the strength to thrive in confidence. The programme was free and open to the public, but priority registration was given to participants from the Cayman Islands Crisis Centre and CAYS Foundation.

CIFEC Internship Programme

The Security Centre welcomed five local students from the Cayman Islands Further Education Centre (CIFEC) for work experience, as part of its 2023-2024 Internship Programme. Students undertook hands on work experience over the course of six months, to help support their transition from school to the workplace and develop their skills and motivation for future career success.

Securing a Future for our Coral Reefs

The Security Centre is the proud title sponsor of the 2022 NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour, with teams from more than 40 countries convening at Public Beach from 11-13 November for the tournament. As part of the event, we’re partnering with local ocean conservation leaders, the Central Caribbean Marine Institute (CCMI) to spread awareness of the issues affecting our coral reefs and the impacts these have on our community. Stop by The Security Centre Coral Reef Experience for engaging discussions with CCMI environmentalists, live demos, and a chance to win some incredible prizes for a good cause.

Earth Day Clean Up

At The Security Centre, we believe it is up to each one of us to protect our planet. Our team of volunteers participated in Cayman’s Chamber of Commerce’s annual Earth Day clean-up, as part of our ongoing efforts towards Protecting Your World.

We are thrilled to join in on important community initiatives like this, that help to preserve and protect our natural environment by clearing waste from our island.

Walk n Wag - the Cayman Islands Humane Society

The Humane Society has always had a special place in our hearts at TSCL. Whenever we can, our volunteers get together and participate in the 5k Walk n Wag! We love supporting our furry friends and always have a fun time helping out.

Light Up the Night Breast Cancer Beach Walk

TSCL fully supports the annual Light Up The Night beach walk to raise money for the charitable foundation and awareness of breast cancer.

We enjoy a Saturday evening walk along Seven Mile Beach while supporting a great cause at the same time.
